Growing things...

I feel like summer is already flying by and it barely got here! We have had so many fun projects going.  First we have been spending most of May getting our flowers and the garden in as well as spiffing up our landscape a bit.  Obsessed is the proper word to describe my gardening habit:) But it is all in now and is to the just maintaining point.  Everything is growing, getting bigger, and surviving the heat.  I didn't love our raised box last year so we gave it to Julian to plant pumpkins in for Halloween.  He cannot wait for them to grow and looks for pumpkins every day.  I don't know where he gets that from... I pretty much go and look at every single plant I have every morning to see how much they have grown.  Weird right?! But I really love it that much:)  I realized today that right now I have a lemon, raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, and a very happy pomegranate and banana tree growing outside which will hopefully bear fruit.  I LOVE fruit and that just gladdens my heart!

Besides that we have been busy finishing up flooring upstairs. We originally had decided on carpet in the bedrooms but the heat and price tag helped win Aaron over to the dark side and now we are putting the same flooring in the bedrooms that we have in the kitchen and living room.  We did Gretchy's room this weekend and I love it! Mostly I love that it is just getting done.  We did the hall earlier and the upstairs is almost completely done.  YES!
And we finally cleaned out the garage so that our cars can fit in there for the first time in two years. Which was awesome till the garage broke:( But at least it is clean...
Besides all that jazz we have been having a great time with these crazy kids.  They are at the stage where they just love doing everything and it is so fun to take them places.  We took them to the mall and they just played forever at the playplace and loved their treats and then for memorial day we went hiking up the back of Timpanogos.  Julian hiked by himself all the way to the first waterfall (about a mile) and he loved all the bugs and kept picking up big rocks off of the trail and throwing them to the side to clear the trail.  He loved it and so did Gretch. She just started charging up the mountain whenever Aaron was not carrying her and refused to wait for us.  It was so cute to watch her little legs pumping up the mountain.
Besides hiking, Julian and Gretch love to:
drive their little cars around the house (loading up the cars is also very important),

 play in their pool,

and go on their slides forever.  It is scary sometimes like when Gretch jumps down superman style to tackle Julian who has climbed up the slide to meet her but they really just have so much fun.

Gretchy's vocabulary grows everyday.  Recently she has said cookie, baby, bubble, and book and seems like she says something new everyday.  She also learned how to blow bubbles by herself and is SUPER active.  She loves to do karate kicks, and dancing kicks as well as twirling around in circles. She and Julian play together all the time but all of her molars are coming in so she has been a bit fussy in the mornings.  Julian loves to jump off of everything, off the slide, porch, couch etc. and he loves to make funny faces and sounds. He has been mister numbers lately.  He can count to ten and loves to count everything around him and divvy up things evenly between all of us.  I was having a hard day about a week ago and he and Gretch had basically emptied out all the drawers in the kitchen.  I was like I am done and Julian came over and volunteered to clean up the mess and then he kept telling me how many items were left on the floor as he was putting them away.  He also melts my heart with his sharing skills.
Sharing the brownie spoon.
He got two candies at church today and went and gave one to Gretch right away when they got home.  He calls her "my baby Gretch" and "my Gretchy" and loves to play with her!  They are my big helpers and love a job to do.  We have so much fun together and have enjoyed running around town together, working on stuff, and playing in the sun.  I am really looking forward to "finishing" our house all the way and having fun with my family in the next few months:)
