Fun for a Week:)

We had lots of fun this week. I was running around trying to get my bar application ready and Aaron has had a lot going on to. Julian and I went to watch him play basketball on Thursday. It was so cute. Julian sat on my lap and his little head just went back and forth from side to side on the court watching all the players. He is so attentive! He loved watching his dad play and hardly fussed:) Here he is trying out the bath with out his special little chair. He loves his bath, no matter how cranky he is he just relaxes and enjoys himself.

I also snuck in a couple of projects. Julian hates his carseat so I wanted to make a really soft cover so that it wouldn't be cold and hard when he got into it. The fabric was on sale and the cover only cost me 3.50 to make, plus some thread that I already needed anyway that was $2. Anyway it was really cheap. I made a super make shift pattern that just included laying the fabric on the carseat and cutting general shapes and then just sewing them together. I am the ultimate lazy sewer!!! But the fabric and seat were really forgiving and I think it actually turned out really good.

I also made another minkey diaper with bamboo fabric on the inside and it is so cute and trim. I think I am really getting the hang of cloth diapers:)

Last but not least Aaron and I made some butternut squash soup for an "Iron chef" with some friends tonight. The great thing is that we grew a bunch of squash in our garden last summer but we have no idea what to do with them. It was pretty satisfying to make the soup today because if worse came to worse than we would actually be ale to eat all that stuff we have stored up. However, I have realized that I actually don't like butternut squash so maybe we could find something else to make soup for next year... but on the other hand, maybe I just don't have a very good recipe. Basically it was squash cooked with some butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, and pepper. Then sauteed onions and apples. I mixed that all up with some chicken broth till it was really soft (after cooking the squash for about 45 minutes). Then I pureed it all in the blender, put it back in the pot and kept adding broth and spices till it somewhere in between baby food consistency and juice. I think it would all be yummier with some brown sugar.

Tomorrow is Monday and I am just trying to stay motivated so that I keep going. I am so tired though... so so tired. Here's to another great week=)
